Effective Ways to Be a Role Model to Your Child

Have you ever had a role model? If so, how did it feel? What advantages did you get from it, and how did that experience shape you? No one person goes through life knowing it all. On the contrary, everyone, at some point, has had at least one person inspire them. Whether be from near or from far.

Many people have played a hand in the direction my life has headed. Therefore along my journey, many people have served as role models at some point in time. There are so many parts of our lives that need to be fed so that we present ourselves whole every single day.

I know, I know. Our parents tell us one thing, our friends another, and society is telling us something completely different. Introduced in such a world, it’s easy to lose track of what really matters. After all, what matters to one person will never consistently matter to everyone else. So it is important for all of us to find that one role model that will help guide us in the direction in which the universe is calling us.

I’ve had key people at different parts of my life that have served as role models. No matter how small the gesture, a shift had taken place. At every point in my life, the people that I’ve crossed paths with have added everything they were destined to. The most beautiful thing about it all, even the setbacks were a blessing. But as I’ve had to learn, why go through it when you can learn through someone else?

History repeats itself. What side of history will you be on?

A Role Model and an Opportunity to Inspire

The most amazing thing about being a role model is our ability to inspire. And along with the inspiration, a piece of us we get to leave behind. The world is constantly turning. As it continues to turn, what seeds do you look to plant? What lessons do you seek to share on behalf of someone else’s experience of living?

I truly believe that although it was written that things only get worse, a little good does no harm. You wouldn’t live in a rat infested house just because your stay was short, would you? Likewise, why live with the mentality of self when we all have to share the experience at some point. A role model provides that support, but also expeirences many blessings.

At the end of it all, what do you look to leave behind in this lovely planet? There is so miuch to be had, but along with that, so much more to give. So give for too many find it easy to take. And with all of the taking going on, why not be part of the giving back team?

When you think about it, you’ll be winning too. Studies have proven over and over that those whom give more, live more. What quality of life are you looking to live? Becareful of the downfall of chasing money. No matter what direction you take in this world, your imprint will matter more than anything else.

You might not be able to finish the job, but you just might be able to get the job started. The change by inspiring change by being a role model to those in need. You’ll plant a seed that will harvest in an entire crop.
