Episode #22 – Why Wait When You Can Create?

We all have dreams that we would want to make a reality, but why wait? In other words, what are you waiting for? It’s easy to hold off your plans for a miracle, but much more challenging to go out there and get it. We are all creators and we all have the ability to create whatever it is we truly desire. It’s just the world that tells us otherwise.

We live in a society that encourages us to stay in line in order for things to come to us. Yes, patience is a virtue, but what you want today should never wait for tomorrow. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today,” so why wait? Tomorrow is so far away compared to what today presents. Put in the work necessary to fulfill all of your dreams.

I believe that a lot of us know death is coming, but have no idea when. That in itself should create a sense of urgency to help accelerate the dreams we look to make real. There is nothing cool about not making good on the promises you’ve made to yourself. There can’t possibly be anything positive about wanting something and not putting in the work necessary to realizing it.

Les Brown said it best when he said:

“The graveyard is the richest place on earth because it is here that you will find all the and dreams that were never fulfilled. The books that were never written. The songs that were never sung. The inventions that were never shared and the cures that were never discovered. All because someone was too afraid to take the first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”

why wait

Put in the Work So You Need Not Wait

The place that has the most amazing, most prominent people sleep forever. There are no opportunities for a rebound. Nor are there any chances provided for rewriting that history that had already been created or taken. Once it’s gone it’s gone. No one can bring back what has already been lost, so why wait another second?

What pushes me to go hard is knowing that my time will eventually come, whenever that is. But when it does, what will they say? What will I be known for? And how will they speak of me? Will I be known as a statistic, or will I be known as the life-changer that I look to become?

The truth is, despite my goals and dreams, I am not guaranteed to live to see it come into existence. But how much effort did I invest in pushing the envelope? Was I able to capitalize on the work I put into this mission? One day we’re here and the next…well, why wait?

Make it All Count Till the End

I believe you can’t get around putting in the work. What good is a dream without action and what good is a thought without a plan? Anyone can speak beautiful words and anyone can paint a perfect createpicture. But how many of us truly understand the value in the moment and the power it holds. For every moment, every breath that we’re given, how do we choose to use it? And how do we show gratitude for this life experience?

Running this race of life, we will all have to answer to the way we chose to live it. Just like everything, life has a beginning and an end and it is up to us to determine how we fill in that gap. I’ve had friends of mines that have shared their dreams with me in the past, some of which never got the chance to see it. It can be discouraging or even hurtful to know that you could work so hard but never find.

I use to feel devasted just thinking about the idea of working and never being able to realize it. Although I understood that I would need to put in work, I new seeing the results isn’t always possible. Life happens. But what I learned is that we don’t always have to reach our goals. The most important things is that we work really hard to see it through.

Inspire Through Your Work

In all honesty, I know that the world is watching, and I understand that even if I don’t get to see my dreams, some will through me.  Someone will be able to use my map in order to be guided to their destination. So why wait for anything to come to me?

Because I know that if I put in the work for me, I, in turn, put in the work for all of those that watched me along the way. And boy would I hate to let them down. I may be here for a little bit, but what I leave behind can last a lifetime. And with that, I know I can live on past my physical existence. But it is only through my inspiring others that can be made possible
