Let’s face it, none of us like feeling overwhelmed. After all, who likes to feel weighed down by life’s operations? If you’re one of those people, know that you are not alone. If it gives you any hope, you are not the first, and nor will you be the last.

Stress plays no favoritism toward those it shares its joys with. We all get impacted despite our walks of life. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. Feeling overwhelmed can come from many different factors. Let’s face it, we all stress for different reasons.

Now I’m not saying it’s easy, but with a few skills, it can all be made possible. Understanding the source and how to deal with things makes the stress a bit lighter. No need to get trapped in feeling overwhelmed when you can get to the bottom of things.

What to do When Feeling Overwhelmed

We all get that feeling. Unfortunately, that is not the feeling we want to live through. so here are some quick tips that will keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

1. Try Asking Why
The best way to break from feeling overwhelmed is by questioning that feeling. “Why am I feeling this way?” And, “What’s it worth to my living the life I dream?”

The faster you are able to pinpoint the soar, the faster you are able to feel better.

2. Embrace the Feel
Nothing we overlook disappears. If anything it remains as long as we allow it space. Feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. Embrace the feeling, be know what it is you want so you allow yourself to create it.

3. Nothing Wrong with A Little Mindfulness
With so much to be distracted by in this world, it’s so easy for us to be separated from the NOW. After all, the present moment is all we truly have. It is the only place that we can live, whether we choose to or not. Meditation is key when I’m feeling overwhelmed. To find a space, relax your mind, and just chill.

4. Just Breathe
It’s by breath alone we have the ability to regain consciousness. So when it get’s challenging, allow your breath to reconnect you.

5. Allow What You Control to be Your Focus
Feeling overwhelmed sometimes can come from our stressing over things we have no ability over. It’s important to understand that nothing you can’t control, you can change. So learn to let it go like a feather in the wind. You’ll find that things always fall in place in the end anyway.

Just in case you are starting to surrender to feeling overwhelmed, remember that you have choices. The choice is yours to walk right through it.
